Nature Notes

Our favorite walking path.

Boss gets at least three walks a day. He can't go out alone so we have to walk him to go potty. He makes it pretty clear when he wants to go out. In the morning my foot is pushed around until I sit up. I usually respond because the next tactic is all twenty pounds land on my belly, not an experience I am fond of.

Since cold weather set in it takes me a little longer to get ready. Sweat pants, t-shirt, jacket, shoes and gloves all have to go on. At this rate when it gets to zero I will have to sleep in my outer wear to get him out the door on time.

Why are dogs so particular about where they poop. Boss stands and sniffs and sniffs and then takes off dragging me like a wooden pull toy. He abruptly stops and more sniffing goes on. This scene is repeated several times. Finally the right smells and texture of grass come together and the deed takes place.

That puppy better learn to choose sooner or he will become an icicle.

LOL..I get a similar treatment from the cats but neither hesitates to jump on my chest in the morning when it is time to eat. If licking the face doesn't work then Elliott pulls my hair and Oliver hits the lamp shade...Thank goodness they use the litter box and I don't have to sleep in my parka... Thanks for posting to Nature Notes Moosh.... Michelle

Michelle the animals sure are characters. I adore my Boss. Your kitties sound cute and fun.

Your pooch is adorable. They can be little pests at potty time, but they are so worth it. Still, I'm glad I only have a cat right now. Litter boxes are so much easier than those midnight walkies.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting at mine. I sure hope your cough is getting better. It's no fun, is it.

I have a kitty so as long as the litter box is clean and there's food and water I'm good to go. She comes around if and when SHE wants to be petted. :)

Nice photo - so green and that little stream of water looks so clear!

I'm so glad you enjoy your visits to my blog. I so appreciate that.

Snicker :D
Our big boy takes forever to choose the right spot too.
The little Dachsen girl doesn't particulary care.
Maybe it's a male thing?

You are a better pet owner than I. When my dog (whom we no longer have) wanted to go for a little exercise I just sent him out to the back yard to run and play. Sounds a little like what I do to my kids after typing that sentence. Although my kids always pick the same place to do their buisness. Thank goodness!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, and I hope you have warm hands and feet this coming winter!

What a beautiful place to walk even if it's cold. Love the shot of your dog. Your narrative was great, bringing to life your morning and the challenges to come in the winter.

lol! On the brighter side, at least he doesn't want to poop on your carpet or on your bed. But you're right that is definitely a challenge during the winter. I love the place where you take your dog for a walk though. The scenery's really good. --- www.prettyfirefly.com
